Our Experience Working with Social Retrieving: How They Helped Us Recover Two Critical Client Accounts

As a digital marketing agency, we understand how devastating it can be when a client's social media account suddenly disappears. Whether it's due to a hack, an unexpected suspension, or automated policy enforcement, losing access to a social media account can disrupt marketing campaigns, damage customer trust, and cost businesses thousands in lost revenue.

Over the past few years, we've helped clients grow audiences, generate leads, and build their brands through social media. Unfortunately, we've also seen firsthand how difficult it can be to recover an account once it has been disabled or compromised.
After exhausting Meta's official support channels on behalf of two clients, we decided to work with Social Retrieving.
This is our honest review of the experience.
The Situation
The first client was a local business whose Instagram account had been permanently disabled after being flagged for violating community standards. The owner had spent months appealing through Meta's built-in forms without receiving any meaningful updates. Every appeal either resulted in an auto
mated response or no response at all.
The second client had a much different problem.
Their Facebook Business account had been compromised after a phishing attack. Although they eventually regained access to some of their login credentials, the Business Manager had already been altered, advertising assets were affected, and several administrative permissions had been changed.
Multiple support tickets had already been opened with Meta before we became involved, but progress had stalled.
In both situations, our agency reached a point where traditional recovery methods were no longer producing results.
Why We Chose Social Retrieving
Like many agencies, we were initially skeptical.
The internet is full of companies promising impossible recovery guarantees, overnight results, or claiming to have "special access" to Meta.
That immediately raises red flags.
What stood out about Social Retrieving was that they were realistic from the beginning.
They didn't promise guaranteed recoveries.
They explained that every case is different, provided an estimated timeframe, outlined the process at a high level, and were transparent that some recoveries require patience.
That honesty gave us considerably more confidence than companies making unrealistic promises.
The Onboarding Process
The onboarding process was straightforward.
Rather than requesting passwords or asking to log directly into our clients' accounts, they requested information such as:
Account URLs
Usernames
Screenshots of error messages
Timeline of events
Previous appeal attempts
Contact information associated with the account
Everything was organized and easy to provide.
Communication was handled through email, allowing us to keep a complete record of every conversation for our clients.
Communication Throughout the Process
One thing we appreciated was that expectations were managed appropriately.
We weren't promised daily updates simply for the sake of sending emails.
Instead, updates were provided whenever meaningful progress occurred or additional information was needed.
That may not satisfy someone expecting constant communication, but after dealing with Meta's own support system, we understood that much of the recovery process involves waiting for reviews, investigations, and internal processing.
The updates we received always explained where the case stood without creating false expectations.
The Recovery Results
The first account was successfully reinstated after several weeks.
Once the account returned, all major content was intact, followers remained, and the client was able to regain full administrative control.
Needless to say, they were thrilled.
The second case required additional work.
There were multiple escalations, additional documentation requests, and periods where there appeared to be no visible movement.
Eventually, however, the client's Facebook assets were restored, administrative access was corrected, and the business was able to resume advertising.
Seeing both clients regain access after believing their accounts were permanently lost was incredibly rewarding.
What We Liked Most
Several aspects of the experience stood out.
Realistic Expectations
Instead of promising impossible timelines or guaranteed success, Social Retrieving explained the risks involved before the project began.
That level of transparency is surprisingly uncommon in this industry.
No Password Requests
At no point were we asked to provide account passwords.
Considering the sensitive nature of social media recovery, this was an important trust factor.
Professional Communication
Responses were professional, courteous, and focused on the case.
Questions were answered clearly, and we never felt pressured.
Experience With Complex Cases
It became obvious during conversations that they had handled a wide variety of recovery scenarios before.
They understood issues involving hacked accounts, disabled accounts, Business Manager problems, authentication issues, and appeal limitations.
That experience gave us confidence that our clients' situations weren't unfamiliar territory.
Was It Worth It?
From our perspective, yes.
Could we have continued trying to recover the accounts ourselves?
Possibly.
But after months of unsuccessful appeals and little progress, bringing in a company that specializes in account recovery ultimately saved our agency a tremendous amount of time and frustration.
Most importantly, our clients got their businesses back.
That alone justified the investment.
Things to Keep in Mind
If you're considering hiring any account recovery company, there are a few things to understand.
Social media account recovery is not an instant process.
No legitimate company can guarantee recovery because the final decision ultimately belongs to the platform.
If someone promises a 100% success rate or guarantees your account will be back within a few days, that's probably a warning sign.
The companies worth considering are usually the ones that set realistic expectations from the beginning.
That was our experience with Social Retrieving.
Final Verdict
After working with Social Retrieving on two separate client recoveries, we would use them again if another complex account issue arose.
They were professional, transparent, organized, and most importantly, they successfully recovered both of the accounts we entrusted to them.
No recovery process is perfect, and some cases naturally take longer than others, but based on our experience, they delivered exactly what they said they would: a dedicated effort to recover accounts that appeared to have reached a dead end through conventional support channels.
For agencies managing client accounts, businesses that rely heavily on social media, or creators whose livelihoods depend on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, having an experienced recovery specialist available can make all the difference.
Our experience was overwhelmingly positive, and we're grateful that both of our clients are back online and operating normally again.
